About the AssignmentAs a systems engineer, you will be a key person in the work with complex system solutions for vessels, focusing on propulsion systems and auxiliary systems. You will be responsible for driving the entire process from requirements analysis and system design to integration, verification, and delivery. Depending on the project's scope, you will either work as a systems engineer in a team or take on the role of System Lead Engineer for smaller systems.
You will collaborate closely with project management and cross-disciplinary technical functions, as well as with production, purchasing, and suppliers. The role requires both technical depth and a lifecycle perspective to ensure robust, safe, and efficient deliveries with high quality standards.
Responsibilities- Develop system design and drive system integration for marine propulsion systems and auxiliary systems
- Develop complex, cross-disciplinary system solutions in collaboration with other technical areas
- Prepare and update technical documentation, such as system specifications, interface descriptions, and verification and test plans
- Conduct system analyses, simulations, and risk assessments
- Participate in procurements, supplier dialogues, and acceptance tests (FAT, HAT, SAT)
- Attend technical meetings and design/integration meetings
- Review the work of other systems engineers
- Contribute to the improvement of processes, methods, and tools
- Approximately 4–7 years of experience in system design, product development, and system integration
- Experience with propulsion systems or other comparable complex/defense-related systems
- Very good understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control systems
- Experience working according to classification rules, military standards, and requirements management
- Proficient user of AVEVA Suite (E3D, Diagrams/P&ID, Engineering or similar)
- Experience with CAD and simulation tools
- Good familiarity with IBM DOORS
- Good knowledge of MS Office
- Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, marine engineering, systems engineering, or equivalent
- Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
- Swedish B driver's license or equivalent valid within the EU
- Ability to undergo and pass a security clearance (requires Swedish citizenship, dual citizenship is not permitted)
- Experience in the role of System Lead Engineer
